BJP to be exposed in UP: Uma Bharti
Jabalpur, May 8 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) President Uma Bharti today claimed the decision to withdraw party candidates from Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls in favour of the BJP was aimed at putting the the saffron party in the dock.
Ms Bharti said her decision followed an appeal by VHP President Ashok Singhal for prevention of division of Hindu votes. However, the situation would become clear after counting of votes on May 11.
She said the BJP should stop calling itself a party of 'Hindus' if it failed to form government in Uttar Pradesh.
The BJS leader said naxalism could enter Bundelkhand, Vindhya and Mahakaushal regions because of harassment of tribals by feudals.
Replying to a question, she said she supported killing of terrorists because nobody turned out with evidence or to give statement because of fear.
She said harassment of police officials by politicians in terrorist Sohrabuddin fake encounter case in Gujarat was not appropriate, as it would demoralise security forces. She said if Kausar Bi was killed, it was a wrong action.
Ms Bharti asked the BJP and the Congress not to play vote-bank politics over the issue.
The sadhvi said the Madhya Pradesh Government's claim of providing adeqaute power to farmers was false. The gap in supply and demand of power exposed how much power was being provided to farmers.
