AP Speaker refers passport fraud to ethics panel

Hyderabad, May 8 (UNI) Taking a serious view of the alleged involvement of some TRS MLAs in the fake passport scam, Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy today referred the matter to the Ethics Committee of the State Assembly.

Names of some MLAs figured in the human trafficking case a mtter of concern, he told reporters here and said action would be initiated based on the recommendations of the committee.

He referred to the steps being taken by Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee to prevent recurrence of incidents like the one involving BJP MP Babubhai Katara.

The kingpin in the human trafficking racket, Rasheed, allegedly helped TRS MLAs Kasipeta Lingaiah and S Bapu Rao to send people abroad with the help of fake passports.
