AP ready for CBI probe into fake encounter: Minister

Hyderabad, May 8 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today reiterated that the government was ready to accept a CBI probe into the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and his wife Kausar Bi, in which the Gujarat Government claimed that the Andhra Pradesh police was also involved.

Speaking to newspersons here, he said, ''We have no objection for a CBI probe into the fake encounter. Andhra Pradesh police will cooperate with the Gujarat Government in the investigation. No Andhra Pradesh police official was involved in the fake encounter as per the present investigation and reports.'' Stating that investigation into the fake passport case was progressing and the Government would take action against the accused once the investigating agencies obtained documental evidence, he said no person, including ruling Congress leaders and Ministers, would be spared, if they were found to be involved in the scam.
