2 'ashtadhatu' idols stolen from ancient temple
Mahoba, May 8 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants burgled two 'ashtadhatu' idols of Lord Ram and Janaki from an ancient temple in Kharela town here.
The antique idols collectively weighing around 15 kgs are being estimated at Rs 20 lakh in the international market.
The burglary came in light, when temple priest Ramdas found the idols missing from sanctum sanctorum this morning.
Meanwhile, there is widespread resentment amongst the people over the theft, since the temple is situation barely 150 mts away from the police station.
Police Superintendent Gyan Singh has formed three teams to trace the miscreants and recover the idols.
