Tata Steel awaits govt's R
Jamshedpur, May 07 (UNI) Steel major Tata steel is awaiting the framing of Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) policy of Jharkhand government to set up a 12 million ton green field project at Tentoposi in Seraikella-Kharsawan district.
Interacting with media persons here today, Tata Steel Corporate Communications Chief Sanjay Chowdhary said, '' the company has to await for the clearance of new R&R policy of the government for 10,000 acre of land in the state.'' He said the company had introduced a five-year integrated development programme 'Tata Parivar' for the displaced in Orissa's Kalinga Nagar and Chhatisgarh's Bastar projects in addition to the state government's separate rehab work. ''The company will introduce same programme for the Jharkhand project too,'' he stated.
Mr Chowdhary said the programme aims at improving the standard of living of the people in the area.
He said the company had already interacted with the villagers to apprise them of the company's plan. '' We hold such meetings to bring tranparency in our communication with the villagers,'' Mr Chowdhury added.
