Seven years' RI awarded to Pak national
New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) A Pakistani national, who had been arrested from a railway station with some restrictive documents in November 2004, was today sentenced to seven years' rigorous imprisonment.
Additional Sessions judge V K Goel, while handing down the sentence to Mohd Shah Gill, also imposed on him a fine of Rs 25,000.
He had been charged under Sections 3 and 9 of the Official Secrets Act, and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act.
Gill, who had come to India on a valid passport, had stayed on, even after expiry of his visa. He was arrested on November 25, 2004 at the New Delhi Railway station, while trying to flee the country.
Several restrictive documents like 25 photographs of the Delhi Cantonment area, two sketches of the Cantonment were recovered from him.
