Mah: Police official discharged; homicide trial

Akola, May 7: In a rare case, the session court at Washim has discharged a police official and vehicle owner from charges of culpable homicide, which involved the loss of lives of 18 people on 17 December 2005 travelling in a jeep.

The jeep belonging to assistant sub inspector Mr Shekhar Bapurao Rathod, met with an accident on Malegaon Washim road and seated 26 people whereas, the original capacity is only nine.
