No Study To Improve IGNOU Success Rate
New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) Enrolment in one of India's leading distance learning centres has been on the rise but no study made to improve students' success rate, Parliament was told today.
The information was given in reply to a question raised in Rajya Sabha by Congress member V Narayanasamy who wanted to know if Indira Gandhi National Open University students' success rate was decreasing year after year.
In reply, Minister of State for Human Resource Development D Purandareswari said the enrolment in IGNOU as well as the number of certificates, diplomas and degrees awarded to students have been on the increase.
But, she said, ''no exclusive study has been conducted so far to improve the success rate of the students enrolled in the university.'' UNI
