Mediapersons submit plea to Sabarkantha collector

Palanpur, May 7 (UNI) A big representation of mediapersons today submitted a memorandum to Sabarkantha Collector M Thennarasan, demanding registration of first information report (FIR) by the police against miscreants, who pelted stones at them yesterday at Ilol village, hometown of suspended DGP D G Vanzara.

The mediapersons have requested the district collector to look into the matter and round up those involved in the attack.

They also handed over its copy to police chief M G Vaghela.

In the representation, the journalists complained about the police inaction, saying they were reluctant to check the miscreants and were silent onlookers when the private securitymen behaved in a most uncivilised manner and encouraged the mob.

When the victims made their way to Himmatnagar taluka police station they too declined to register the complaint (FIR). This led to verbal squabble between the two.
