Lottery tickets worth Rs 50,000 seized

Coimbatore, May 7 (UNI) Sleuths of crime branch CID today seized fake lottery tickets worth more than Rs 50,000 and cash of more than Rs one lakh after making surprise raids at different places here and in Erode districts of the state.

The sleuths conducted the raids following reports that sale of fake lottery tickets was rampant in these districts after the government banned lottery in the state.

Police arrested 12 people involved in the sale of fake lottery tickets and were investigating.
