New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) The Delhi Cabinet today decided to increase the income limit for J and K migrants in the national capital from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 as the eligibility criteria for receiving relief.

Briefing mediapersons after the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said that this would enable more migrant families to be eligible for the relief.

Out of the total 19338 registered families, presently 3624 are already getting relief.

The increase in the income limit as basis for eligible criteria is justified in view of the increase in consumer price index, she said.

The Cabinet has also approved the verification procedure for the migrants' families, which includes filing of an affidavit.

The Association of Kashmir Migrants had been demanding the increase in the eligibility criteria for relief for sometime.
