HM militant shot dead in Baderwah

Jammu, May 7 (UNI) Security forces today gunned down a hard-core militant and area commander of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) in an encounter at Baderwah in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, official sources said.

A joint team of 4 Rashtriya Rifles and police STF shot dead the locally trained HM militant after an hour long operation. The militant had taken shelter in a house at Qilla Mohalla near Baderwah town, sources said.

The slain militant was identified as Irshad Ahmed Khan, resident of nearby Sumbli village, sources informed.

Three chinese grenades were recovered from his possesion.
