GKUF calls bandh, demands separate state of Kamtapur
Siliguri, May 7 (UNI) The Greater Kamta United Forum (GKUF) has called a 24-hour strike on June 27 in North Bengal, Asom and Bihar.
The strike was called demanding separate state of Kamtapur, said GKUF president Atul Roy here today.
He charged both Central and state governments with adopting an "indifferent" attitude towards their demand, saying, " We have no option but to call a bandh to realise our goal. " Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) general secretary Suproya Bhattacharya said his party had extended support to the cause of the GKUF.
