Girish Gandhi takes oath of MLC

Mumbai, May 7 (UNI) Girish Gandhi today took the oath as Member of the Legislative Counci.

He was administered oath by Council Chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh.

Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil and others were present on the occasion.

Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna had nominated Girish Gandhi as member of Legislative Council recently in place of Prof Jogendra Kawade, who had resigned in the wake of murder of four members of a dalit family at Khairlanji.

Mr Gandhi's tenure will end on February 20 next year. He is the President of Nagpur district NCP unit.
