DYFI holds out rally in Chennai

Chennai, May 7 (UNI) The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), affiliated to the CPI(M), took out a rally in connection with its four-day All India Conference beginning here tomorrow.

DYFI All-India president K N Balagopal, who led the rally, said the theme of the conference would be 'Strengthen India's Future; Invest in Youth.' Even after about 60 years of independence, the youth were deprived of education and jobs; that too in an era of liberalisation, he alleged.

Delegates from Cuba, France, Greece, Portugal, Palestine, Lebanon, Nepal, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Myanmar are expected to participate in the conference.

Senior leaders of the CPI(M) and DYFI addressed a public meeting organised at the conclusion of the rally.
