DSGMC to start own TV channel

Patiala, May 7 (UNI) The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) will start its own TV channel to telecast live the Gurbani kirtan from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib and Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib.

Talking to UNI over the phone, the President of DSGMC Paramjit Sarna said they have been exploring possibilities to start its own satellite channel for transmitting the message of the Sikh Gurus to every corner of the world in view of the demands for such programmes from devotees in the country as well as abroad.

He said that the DSGMC has been in touch with professionals to have project reports finalised to go ahead.

''We have been discussing about the one-time as well as recurring expenses, once we have completed our paper work, the Sikh Sangat will be able to watch live telecast,'' he added.

At present Sadhana channel was relaying live telecast of Gurbani Kirtan from Gurdawara Bangla Sahib and some private channel has also approached DSGMC to sign the contract, he said.
