Dishtv lines up programmes to sizzle summer for kids

New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) With summer break round the corner, kids can be assured of a rollicking time with Dishtv -- the country's first and largest direct to home service provider -- announing an exciting ''Summer Holiday Bonanza'' of movies, games and eight dedicated children's channels.

These channels include Disney channel, Hungama TV, Cartoon Network, Toon Disney, Nick, Pogo, Animax and the Dishtv exclusive 'Boomerang' that carries some of the choicest cartoons.

The innovative packaging of its infotainment allows new subscribers of dishtv under this summer bonanza to enjoy a dual benefit. At a special offer price of Rs. 3990, they can get ''the entire hardware along with installation'' four months' subscription of Maxi package (115 digital channels) and a special 'Movie on Demand' season ticket, which carries unlimited viewing of 24 exciting titles, worth Rs 1320, for the entire period (May 3-June 28).

At the end of the offer period of four months, the subscribers can choose the package they want from out of dishtv's 3-tier pricing, ranging between Rs 160 and Rs 300 per month.

''While the parents can enjoy a great value-for-money offer to get Dishtv home with four months' subscription, the kids can get completely delighted with the plethora of exciting movies, games and channels on the platform,'' says Mr. Arun Kapoor, CEO, Dishtv.

This has become possible with dishtv acquiring special movies from national and international broadcasters to package together the 'season ticket' on their 'movie on demand' service.

The season ticket includes four animation titles from the Disney/Pixar library along with 20 other interesting movies. Among the special titles is 'Cars', one of the biggest grosser in animation movie titles that did a business of 150,000 US dollars the world over.

Dishtv is premiering this movie on their movie on demand service this week and will continue to showcase it for the next eight weeks for its young viewers.

'Chicken Little' is another animation movie being premiered on Dishtv. Also on offer are two more animation titles -- Aladdin and Jungle Book 2, the all-time favourite classics of kids. The special thing is that these movies are available for the first time in a choice of two languages - English and Hindi.

Also packaged in the season ticket are children movies like '102 Dalmatians' in English and Makdee, Tarzan the wonder car, Chachi 420 and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S in Hindi.

The usual night movie band, post-11 pm, continues with the choicest movies for parents such as 'While u were sleeping' and 'Runaway Bride' in English and 'Aitraaz', 'Garam Masala' in Hindi.

''All this excitement, comprising 24 movies worth Rs 1320, is packed in a great value season ticket that goes free to all new subscribers during this offer on buying dishtv connection between now and June 15,'' Mr Kapoor points out.

Existing subscribers can enjoy this season ticket for a Rs. 299 only, though individual movie orders will also continue to be accepted and shown.

According to Mr Kapoor, the season ticket concept is a novel idea being introduced for the first time ever by anyone in this space for TV viewers.

''The idea emerges from the consumer insight that children love to watch their favourite movies over and over again, once they like it.

Hence children in dishtv-owning homes will now have the utter indulgence of enjoying unlimited and non-stop viewing of the kids' movies on offer.

Dishtv's gaming portal 'Playjam' has also acquired a whole new look this summer with two new games getting added every month and a consumer-friendly navigation and game selection menu.
