Cyber way to invite for marriage

Kannur, May 7 (UNI) At a time when Kerala is heading for another revolution in computer literacy, why not a wedding invitation through a Compact Disc (CD)? Nishad Gopinath, a 32-year-old youth hailing from Taliparamba in this district had come up with a novel way to invite his friends and relatives for his marriage.

Mr Gopinath, a sales-in-charge at International Investors Company in Dubai, has developed a new mode of ''cyber invitation'' with ''flash animation''.

''I have send 150 CDs to my close friends and relatives, as I could not invite many of them in person,'' he told UNI.

Mr Gopinath said for the benefit of his friends in Canada, the US, Philippines, Egypt and Dubai he had opened a website ''my wed''.

With the help of the website, he would get all the information about the date of arrival of his friends to his marriage.

This would help him to arrange accommodation, travelling facility for his friends, coming for the marriage.

He said the CD contained all information of the marriage and photos of the couple.

The cost of making each CD was only Rs 10, as compared to Rs 15 for the usual printed invitation, he added.
