Cong wants Bardhan to raise issues in UPA-Left meet
New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) The Congress today said it saw ''nothing objectionable'' in the statement made by CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan but felt he should raised the matter in the UPA-Left Coordination Committee meet.
''Mr Bardhan should not have raised the issue publicly and it would have been better if he had discussed it in a UPA Left Coordination committee meeting,'' Congress Spokesman Satyavrat Chaturvedi said, briefing mediapersons in the precincts of Parliament.
Mr Bardhan had raised objections to the manner the Congress-led UPA Government was functioning and the policies being pursued by it and strongly pleaded for a review of the support of the Left parties to the Government.
Replying to a question on whether the Budget Session of Parliament could be terminated prematurely, Mr Chaturvedi said there was no such possibility and referred in this context to the statement by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs P R Dasmunsi ruling out this possibility.
''The Congress does not want Parliament to be ajourned sine die prematurely, nor is it making any such demand,'' he said.
