BJP to intensify stir on beedi packet logo

Hyderabad, May 7 (UNI) The BJP in Andhra Pradesh today said it would intensify its stir in support of beedi workers if the Centre did not immediately withdraw its order making the 'skull and cross bones' logo mandatory on beedi packs.

Ahead of the party's 'Mahadharna' in 16 centres in the Telangana region tomorrow, BJP State President Bandaru Dattatreya told a press conference here that the government should not be adamant on implementing the GO without providing alternative employment to lakh of beedi workers.

In Kamareddy, Mr Dattatreya would lead the stir while former Union Minister Ch Vidyasagar Rao would spearhead the agitation in Metpalli.
