BJP candidates list for June 2 polls tomorrow

Panaji, May 7 (UNI) The Central Election Committee of the BJP is likely to release list of party candidates tomorrow in New Delhi for the June 2 elections to the Goa Legislative Assembly when the Election Commission is expected to issue formal notification.

Disclosing this to mediapersons here today, Opposition leader and former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said the list forwarded by the State Election Committee reflected all sections of society, including women besides youth.

The State Committee had shortlisted one nominee for each of the 36 constituencies the party wanted to contest from after a thorough selection process, he said.

The party, he said, would come out with the strategy either to field its candidates for the remaining four seats or support others.

The just concluded village panchayat elections, held on non-party basis, had become a ''trend setter'' in favour of the BJP with most of its nominees winning at different places, he added.
