Actor-MP Govinda open to roles to help him grow as actor

Mumbai, May 7 (UNI) Actor-turned-MP Govinda says he is open to different kinds of roles that will help him grow as a performer.

Talking to reporters here, after a comedy awards function, Govinda said, '' I am thankful to the industry who has accepted me whole heartedly. Though there was a break but I understood that my natural calling is Bollywood. I was getting restless to get back where I belonged.'' He said, ''though most of my films did well earlier, I admit I didn't made some right choices. But right now I would like to do good quality roles, that will challenge me as an actor&help me grow.

Bollywood has changed so much and so many different roles are being written. I want to explore new roles and challenges.'' When asked about reports of his teaming up with national award winning filmmaker Aparna Sen, Govinda just said that he was excited about exploring different kinds of cinema.

Shah Rukh Khan, who was also present at the awards show, acknowledged that comedy was one of the most difficult thing to do and said that Govinda was the King of Comedy and he enjoyed watching his films. He said that Govinda is acknowledged in the Industry as the most natural actor to grace Bollywood.

The actor, who critics say, failed to make his presence felt in politics, made a comeback to movies with 'Bhagam Bhag' and 'Salam- E-Ishq'. Even though box office reports of both films have not been encouraging, Govinda is taking his comeback seriously and is also practising his dance moves to get back into shape.
