50-hr continuous dance treat in Puducherry

Puducherry, May 7 (UNI) As many as 63 students of a dance school here have created a record by performing the classical dance of Bharatanatyam non-stop for 50 hours.

The students of Sangeetha Natyalaya here, studying from LKG to college, began their feat at the Gandhi Thidal on the evening of May four and sucessfully completed it last night.

Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy participated in the closing ceremony yesterday and congratulated the students for their splendid performance.

School Administrator Sangeetha told newspersons here that it was a record as no one had ever performed Bharatanatyam non-stop for 50 hours.
