UP: 35 hurt in road mishap
Varanasi, May 7: At least 35 people were injured when the bus in which they were travelling overturned and fell into a gorge in the Cholapur area here last night.
The mishap occurred when an Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus from Azamgarh to Varanasi overturned near the Dhelwaria Bir temple and fell into a gorge, police said here today.
At least 35 passengers most of them belonging to Azamgarh, Jaunpur and Varanasi were injured and rushed to various hospitals including the Varanasi district hospital.
In another incident, five people were killed and 17 injured when a bus travelling from Ghazipur to Varanasi overturned and felle into a gorge edging the Gomti river in Khanpur area on Ghazipur-Varanasi border last evening.
