Mysore, May 6 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today asked the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Vice Chancellor to regularise 220 temporary employees who were on a long strike, asked them to join duty from tomorrow.

Taking a serious note of temporary employees continuing their 18 month long agitation. He reacted sharply to the University authorities advertising calling application for such posts.

The Chief Minister 'took to task' Vice Chancellor Prof K Sudha Rao who in turn blamed Higher Education Department Secretary and the university Registrar as responsible.

When Mr Kumaraswamy immediately contacted concerned official in the Department who replied that the issue rested entirely with the Vice Chancellor. This enraged the Chief Minister who took Prof Rao to task and asked "I extended you tenure for one year by giving you respect." Mr Kumaraswamy asked the agitating workers to resume to work from tomorrow and "lock University office if Vice Chancellor prevents them." The Chief Minister's visit to the KSOU was prompted by an advertisement calling for application for temporary post.
