Haryana govt has approved 49 SEZs

Chandigarh, May 6 (UNI) The Haryana government has so far received 72 proposals for setting up Special Economic Zones (SEZs), out of which 49 have been approved.

This information was given to Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda during a review meeting of the industries department here today.

It was informed in the meeting that a petro chemical hub was being set up at Panipat and a Memorandum of Understanding had been executed between Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation.

This petro project would be implemented in phases. The first phase of the project would be implemented between 2007 to 2012 and second phase between 2013 to 2016.

It was informed in the meeting that land had already been acquired for the development of phase five industrial sector at IMT Manesar.

Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Industries Department, Mr P K Chaudhry said that HSIIDC was developing four Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) at Rohtak, Jagadhri, Faridabad and Kharkhoda. He also apprised the meeting that the HSIIDC was also developing 1200 acres of area of Bawal under phase II.

Similarly, technology park in Panchkula was also being developed and HUDA had allotted 97 acres of land for this project.

Others present in the meeting included Industries Minister, Lacchman Das Arora, Chief Secretary Prem Prashant and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister M L Tayal.
