Vipul Agarwal denies Tulsiram's postmortem report missing
Palanpur, Gujarat, May 5 (UNI) Banaskantha District police chief Vipul Agarwal, whose name figures in the encounter death of Tulsiram Prajapati -- an eye-witness in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh killing, has denied that Tulsiram's postmortem report is missing as reported in a section of the Press.
Talking to UNI, Mr Agarwal, however, refused to state anything further saying, ''No responsible officer would prefer to comment at this juncture when the matter is sub judice.'' Tulsiram Prajapati was killed in an encounter near Ambaji on December 28 last year.
When queried about Tulsiram's postmortem report, Mr Agarwal said, ''All relevant documents, including a copy of the report, have been sent to the investigating agency (CID Crime).'' Despite his name cropping up in newspapers, Mr Agarwal had maintained silence so far. He had also avoided attending IPS officers' meetings following the arrest of his immediate superior, Deputy Inspector General of Police (border range) D G Vanzara.
Breaking his silence today, Mr Agarwal refuted the newspaper reports while speaking to UNI.
Meanwhile, Cottage Hospital, Ambaji, superintendent Mansukhbhai Patel also refuted the newspaper reports. ''I don't understand. How can such baseless reports appear in the Press? Come to the hospital and see the postmortem report for yourself,'' Patel said.
''The original postmortem report, done on December 28, 2006, is still there in the hospital,'' he said.
