Vasundhara expresses satisfaction over flow of water from Punjab

Sriganganagar, May 4 (UNI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today expressed satisfaction over present availability of water in Indira Gandhi canal from Punjab.

Talking to reporters at the Harike head in the Tarn Taran district of neighbouring Punjab, Mrs Raje said that her state had got more water from Punjab during the current crop season as compared to the last year and this had resulted in very good crop in her state this year.

She said that the problem of flow of polluted water from Punjab would be solved in a year and her government was in touch with the Punjab Government in this regard.

Mrs Raje reached here from Jaipur via Bhatinda to undertake inspection tour of the canal area. She began her four day tour from Harike head works.

During the visit, the Chief Minister will visit a number of spots along the course of the canal between Harike head and Ramgarh in Jaisalmer district.

Tomorrow she will visit various places in Hanumangarh and Bikaner district.
