US pressurising India in the shadow of nuke deal : CPI

New Delhi, May 4 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) today condemned the US for ''interfering'' in the country's affairs.

The party in a statement issued here said ''it has become evident ever since the two countries signed a nuclear deal. And as the deal has reached at a critical stage, the US is pressurising India not to have any cooperation with Iran.'' Earlier, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other top officals had openly opposed India-Pakistan-Iran gas pipelne project, the statement said.

''This is gross interference in our affairs, US is virtually dictating what India should do in order to secure the nuclear deal,'' the statement added.
