Nashik jail sex racket: Tapes doctored, says jail supdt
Nashik, May 4 (UNI) Nashik Road Central Jail Superintendent A C Rane today denied that a ''sex racket'' was flourishing in the jail as reported by a television news channel.
''There is no possibility of such a scandal. The tapes are 'doctored' by the news channel. It is an attempt to malign the image of the Central Jail and I am hurt by it,'' Mr Rane told mediapersons.
The sting operation showed the jail staff accepting bribe from hardened criminals for allowing homosexual relationships among the inmates.
The report stated that some prisoners had contracted HIV through such homosexual relations.
Some clippings showed a cop 'Ram Jadhav' known as 'Ram baba' among prisoners, taking bribe for the deed.
Mr Rane said, ''I have reported this incident to my seniors.
Investigations will be held against Jadhav and if found guilty, strict action will be initiated against him,'' Mr Rane said.
