Modi assures early completion of Dahej-Uran gas pipeline
Mumbai, May 4 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has assured All co-operation in the early completion of the 12 km Dahej-Uran gas pipeline near Surat for the Ratnagiri Gas and Power Project Ltd (RGPPL).
This was conveyed to Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh by Union Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde here today.
With the completion of the gas pipeline, RGPPL will be able to generate 2100 MW electricity to its full capacity by December 2007.
Last week, Maharashtra government said the delay in giving permission to the 12 km pipeline near Surat by Mr Modi would affect the chances of getting the RGPPL off to its full steam.
NCP had even organised a demonstration against Mr Modi and burnt his effigy.
