CISF, BSF jawans train guns at each other on way to election duty
Varanasi, May 4 (UNI) Timely intervention by district police prevented a major clash between BSF and CISF jawans who trained guns at each other following a spat on their way for election duty here today.
Police said the incident occurred when a bus carrying CISF personnel and a jeep boarded by BSF personnel were trapped in a traffic snarl in the Mehmoorganj area here.
The personnel of both the para-military forces going on election duty to Azamgarh and Gorakhpur districts indulged in a noisy spat while trying to move free from the traffic jam. The noisy spat turned into a full-fledged face off when jawans of both CISF and BSF trained their guns at each other.
On receiving information of the incident, Circle Officer (Bhelupur) D P Shukla reached the spot and intervened to prevent the matter from turning violent, police added.
The jawans of both forces later proceeded for their destinations.
