CBI court charges 2 IPS officers in police uniform scam

Patna, May 4 (UNI) A special court today framed charges against nine people, including two retired IPS officers, in police uniform Ramchandra Khan and Rajendra Sharma scam case.

The special judge R.S.Rai framed the charges against the accused under various sections of the IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act.

On March 24 the court had rejected the discharge petition of Mr Khan.

The accused were facing charges of financial irregularities of Rs 42 lakhs, during purchase of police uniform and other related articles for the Bihar Military Police (BMP) during 1983-85.

The provisions of financial code, state police manual and the standing orders for purchase were violated as the articles purchased were of low quality.

Mr Khan was then the AIG (D) while the other IPS officer Rajendra Sharma was the then commandent in BMP 16.

Besides, charges were also framed against the private suppliers.
