Ambala, May 4 (UNI) BJP workers today held a demonstration and burnt Minister of State for Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation Kumari Selja in effigy to protest against the Centre's move to change the name of Ambedkar Housing Scheme for SCs/STs to Nehru Gandhi Housing Scheme.

The demonstrators led by former Mandal President Sandeep Sachdeva on reaching the Jagadhri Chowk burnt effigies of the Minister and raised slogans against her, alleging that she had insulted the founder of Indian Constitution by removing his name from the scheme.

Mr Sachdeva, in his address to the demonstrators claimed that Ms Selja, being a local MP had not met expectations of the electorate who were now disillusioned with her.

He further alleged that not a single development scheme or project had been introduced in her Ambala Parliamentary constituency.
