Chennai, May 3: A 12-member women entrepreneur delegation from Norway today gave a call to their counterparts in Tamil Nadu to seek business tie-ups to improve trade relations between the two countries.

The Norwegian team headed by Anne Lise Rognlidalen organised a programme jointly with FICCI Ladies Organisation Chennai Chapter to explore the possibility of creating a fora for exchange of information, experience and ideas that could pave the way for new Indo-Norwegian business activities and innovation.

During interaction with mediapersons here, Ms Lise said "we have organised various programmes which includes seminars and one-to-one meetings with Indian women entreprenueurs in Chennai, New Delhi and Mumbai.

"These programems would not only increase the trade relations between the two countries but also help creation of value through strengthening women's position in the economy in both the countries.

"To increase the participation of women entrepreneurs and female representation in management and boards of companies, Innovation Norway, a NGO, closely linked to the Minstry of Industry and Trade, had established a special programme called 'Women in Focus.' "Our delegates are interested in the import of various IT products, textiles, timber from Indian companies," she said adding "this will lead in technology and competence transfer between Norwegian and Indian partners."
