Suicide bid close to PM Office by 42-yr-old, critical in hospital
New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Security apparatus around the sensitive Race Course Road area, adjacent to Prime Minister's House, went into a tizzy after a 42-year-old man allegedly tried to commit suicide outside the Jaipur Polo Ground this afternoon.
It was a suicide attempt and the suicide note has been recovered from the possession of the injured Kishori Lal, said DCP (New Delhi) Anand Mohan.
''Presently he was in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and his condition is said to be critical.'' The suicide note mentioned his unhappiness with his wife, whom he alleged was having an affair with someone, he said, adding ''The dispute with his wife had been dragging for some time and Kishori Lal also tried for a compromise which did not work out.
Frustrated, he was ending his life, said the suicide note.'' Kishori Lal reportedly shot himself on Kamal Ataturk Marg in Chanakyapuri area and from there came to Race Course Road and fell on a bench opposite Jaipur Polo Ground, the DCP added.
Earlier, police spokesman Rajan Bhagat had told the media that a passerby reported about the injured person to the PCR at about 1500 hrs which rushed him to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
''Injured Kishori Lal, a resident of Dwarka in South-West Delhi, was hit by a single bullet on the right side of his chest.
On way to the hospital, he said he had been shot at by two men of one Jeetu who lived in Tilak Nagar.'' Soon after the incident being reported police cordoned off the area and found an unattended Zen car outside the polo ground in which a pistol and some cash was lying.
''The cash was around Rs 11,000,'' confirmed DCP Anand Mohan.
