Rose wood worth Rs 10 lakh seized in Virajpet

Madikeri, May 3 (UNI) Crime branch police has seized rose wood worth Rs 10 lakh from an estate at Nalvathoklu at Virajpet taluk of Kodagu district.

Police said acting on a tip off, they raided the estate yesterday. The main accused Yusuf and five others fled the scene.

They had removed two rosewood trees and cut them into fourteen pieces.

The logs were ready to be smuggled out. A case has been registered, police added.
