UP: Presiding officer dies of cardiac arrest

Lucknow, May 3: The presiding officer of a polling centre in Pratappur assembly constituency of Allahabad district died of cardiac arrest today.

Official sources said here A N Tiwari was deputed at a polling centre in Anhera village.

He first complained of pain this morning soon after polling had begun, sources added.

Mr Tiwari was posted at the Comptroller and Auditor General office in Allahabad.

Later, another official took over as the presiding officer in his place and the polling was not disrupted.

Meanwhile, Mr Tiwari's body was being sent to Allahabad.
