Pakistan yet to give MFN status to India: Malik
New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Pakistan today refuted media reports on India getting the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status from the neighbouring country, saying the final decision was yet to be taken.
''MFN is a misnomer. We look forward to increased bilateral trade with India but such a status is yet to be given,'' Pakistan High Commissioner Shahid Malik told reporters here.
Speaking at a conference, he said it did not make any material difference in the flow of bilateral trade despite India not being granted the MFN status.
''India's exports to Pakistan are over three times than Pakistans imports to India, he added.
India has already recognised Pakistan as an MFN.
A delegation from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) last week said Pakistan would grant the special status to India in a move to enhance bilateral trade ties.
