On line MBBS entrance test to Punjab medical colleges

Chandigarh , May 3 (UNI) The PMT-2007 entrance examination to MBBS courses in the medical colleges of Punjab this year is expected to go on-line.

This is being done to streamline and bring transparency in the admission process in the medical institutions.

Disclosing this here today Medical Education and Research Minister Tikshan Sood said that before formal implementation of the on-line examination system, the government would study the details of this system. He further said the private sector computer and IT companies interested in the on-line contract could give their presentations at Government Medical College, Patiala in the presence of the senior officers of the Medical Education department, Baba Farid University of Health and Medical Sciences and the Education and Law Departments on May 15.

The final decision on the contract would be taken in consultation with the departments concerned, He said.
