Nation facing terrorism threat: Rajnath
Gorakhpur, May 3 (UNI) BJP president Rajnath Singh today alleged that the appeasement policies of so-called secular parties were taking the nation towards ''danger of terrorism''.
Addressing a news conference here, Mr Singh said the Prime Minister's Office and security agencies have confirmed news about investment in the share market by terrorist groups-Hizbul Mujahiddin and Lashkar-e-Toiba.
He called for immediate attention of the Centre to keep an eye over the activities and involvement of the terrorist groups in the stock market.
The BJP president lashed out at the Centre for banning POTA and not taking any firm steps to curb terrorism in the country in their present term.
Focussing on the Ram temple issue, Mr Singh said it is a part of his party's national policy and ''we will pave the way for it and a law would be framed, if needed.'' Mr Singh praised the Election Commission for free and fair assembly election, but highlighted the low voter turn-out and urged the EC to make policies to raise voting percentage by holding consultations with all the political parties.
He mocked at BSP chief Mayawati saying she wished to form the next state government, which BJP is leading in the entire nation, he claimed.
The BJP president discarded reservation on the basis of religion and warned of nation-wide agitation against it. However, he supported reservation to SC/ST members in minority educational institutions.
