JSW Steel rev up at 18 pc growth in crude steel production
New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) JSW Steel Ltd today said the Company reported a growth of 18 per cent in crude steel production in April this fiscal.
The crude steel production grew by 18 per cent at 2.16 lakh tonnes in the said period, while the HR coils production soared by 271 per cent at 1.94 lakh tonnes.
The company showed a flat growth, in volumes, sequentially in HR/Coated products, but reported higher volumes over the corresponding month of previous year as the production was lower in April '06 due to shutdown of Hot strip mill for modernisation.
However, Crude steel production increased by 18 per cent in spite of shutdown of one of the hot metal furnaces for almost 12 days in April '07.
