Jansahayak Trust sets up age old home in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, May 3 (UNI) The Jansahayak Trust has set up the ''Hiramani Saandhyajeevan Kutir''-a home for aged people, located on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway.

President of the Jansahayak Trust and former Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Narhari Amin, involved in the field of education, told reporters here today that disadvantaged elderly persons need a safe and secure home away from their children who are are not in a position to take care of their parents.

He said that Hiramani Saandhyajeevan Kutir, which has been built at a cost of Rs 9 crore, has a capacity to accommodate 372 elderly people.

The home will be inaugurated by Pramukhswami Maharaj of the Swami Narayan Sect this Sunday. Ahmed Patel, MP and political Secretary to Sonia Gandhi will be chief guest, while founder of Nirma, Karsanbhai Patel will be Guest of Honour.

Mr Amin said the Kutir has 120 rooms with 84 rooms each for four persons, 12 AC rooms for twin sharing or couples and 12 AC rooms having single occupancy.

The admission process of the Kutir will start from May 7 for elderly persons in good health between 55 to 80 years of age, he added.
