New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Panic gripped the high security Race Course Road area, adjacent to Prime Minister's House, this afternoon following a firing incident in which a 42-year-old person was injured outside the Jaipur Polo Ground.

Even as the police cordoned the area and senior officials rushed to the spot, an unattended Zen car was found outside the Polo ground in which a pistol and some cash was found lying, said a senior police official.

''A passerby reported about the injured person to the PCR at about 1500 hrs which rushed him to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.'' Injured Kishori Lal, a resident of Dwarka in South-West Delhi, was hit by a single bullet on the right side of his chest, said the official.

''On way to the hospital he said he had been shot at by two men of one Jeetu who lives in Tilak Nagar.'' It was a case of personal enmity and investigations are on, the official added.

Meanwhile, sources said three shots were fired of which one hit Kishori Lal, adding that the assailants fled in the direction from which they came.
