Anti SEZ movement in Alibag dampens festival spirit

Alibag, May 3 (UNI) The colourful celebration of the Alibag festival,that commenced today, may be dampaned due to the anti-SEZ movement,spurting up against Reliance and TATA energy projects, Ravinder Awati, Vice president, Corporate Affairs of Reliance's Anil Ambani Group, said here.

He was Referring to Reliance's 5,000 MW energy project, which was all set to start here.

Awati clarified that the tug of war for acquiring land between TATA and Reliance had ended and said that Reliance Energy will provide the land holders higher compensation than the present rates as well as social projects like building of schools and hospitals will be initiated.

Inaugurated by food and civil supplies Minister, Sunil Tatkare , the festival is being organised by lion's club and Alibag municipal corporation on Alibag beach. it will conclude on May six.
