'Yaad-e-Naushad' on May 5 to pay tributes to the music legend
Mumbai, May 2 (UNI) ''Yaad-e-Naushad'', a musical evening to pay tributes to legendary music director Naushad Ali on his first death anniversary, will be held here on May 5.
The musical event, comprising select compositions of the late music maestro, will be held at Shanmukhananda Hall here.
Organised by Hemant Kumar Mahale and his group and Digital Media Incorporation, ''Yaad-e-Naushad'' will feature playback singers like Suresh Wadkar, Sudesh Bhosle, Anil Vajpayee, Siddhant Bhosle, Sanjeevni Bhelande and Gauri Kavi.
The orchestra has 50 artistes /musicians with instruments which will have a blend of western and eastern culture. The programme will be conducted by veteran music director and arranger Raees Khan (Pappuji) with Arvind Mukhedkar as script writer.
The concept 'Yaad-e-Naushad'' has been drafted by Mahale. Last year, he had successfully presented a musical event to celebrate the 75th birthday of Shammi Kapoor. He followed it with a musical evening to pay tributes to late music composer O P Nayyar.
''It is a challenging job in present time to organize shows of this magnitude and the audience will surely enjoy every aspect of it,'' Mr Mahale told reporters here today.
