New Delhi, May 2 (UNI) Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has expressed a desire to retire from active politics, RSS mouthpiece "Panchjanya" said.
"Rajnitik sakriyta se mujhe mukt karo. Bahut hua, ab jano do," (Relieve me of active politics. It is enough, let me go), the RSS weekly, quoting Mr Vajpayee, said in its editorial.
The editorial said Mr Vajpayee was reluctant to join the BJP's campaign in Uttar Pradesh as he had announced his desire to quit politics. But, he agreed to do so after a lot of persuasion.
Describing him as 'pragya purush' (intellectual) in politics, it said: Mr Vajpayee's presence in the party campaign was necessary to boost the confidence of party workers.
