Silver down by Rs 270 per kg, Gold by Rs 80 per ten gm
Mumbai, May 2 (UNI) Both the precious metals eased further on thin buying support with Silver down by a whopping Rs 270 per kg and Gold by Rs 80 per ten gm on the Bombay Bullion Exchange today.
Silver fineness .999 opened downward at Rs 18,910 per kg on lack of fresh demand. Later, it declined further and closed at Rs 18,875 with a heavy loss of Rs 270 from Monday's close of Rs 19,145 as yesterday the market was closed for 'Maharashtra Day'.
In London, Silver fell to USD 13.25/13.27 per troy ounce against USD 13.52/13.54 per troy ounce in New York.
Similarly, standard Gold (99.5) and pure Gold (99.9) also opened low at Rs 9,050 and Rs 9,095 per ten gm on sustained heavy selling pressure.
Later, the yellow metal closed at Rs 9,020 and Rs 9,070 per ten gm with loss of Rs 80 each from their last close.
In London, Gold dropped to USD 668.00/670.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 678.00/680.00 per troy ounce in New York on Tuesday.
