Hyderabad, May 2: The Central Crime Station (CCS) police has intensified searches to nab the absconding Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA S Babu Rao in connection with the alleged involvement of BJP MP Babubhai Katara in human trafficking case.

Sources said the police teams had already visited Boath in Adilabad district, the constituency he is representing in the House, and seized documents and other incriminating material. The relatives of Mr Rao were also interrogated to find out Rao's alleged involvement in the fake passport case.

Police had confirmed that Mr Rao had obtained a fake passport for a Gujarati woman in the name of his wife.

After receiving authentic information of Mr Rao's alleged involvement in the fake passport case, the CCS police had intensified searches to arrest him.

Another TRS MLA K Lingaiah had already been arrested in connection with the case on April 27. A city court had remanded him to police custody yesterday.

Meanwhile, the CCS police were conducting searches in the houses of Lingaiah at Godavari Khani town in Karim Nagar district this morning. Some documents and other case-related papers were recovered from his house.
