Hyderabad, May 2 (UNI) Taking the cue from media and intelligence reports, the city police is making 'discreet inquiries' into allegations against the state MPs and MLAs securing passports for others in the names of their family members.

According to sources here, the Central Crime Station (CCS) police had launched investigation into the involvement of all MPs and MLAs of Andhra Pradesh, in the fake passport racket that was unearthed after the arrest of BJP MLA Babubhai Katara in human trafficking case.

Initially, the CCS police was gathering information and details of the MPs and MLAs who obtained passports in the last two to three years from the regional passport office in Hyderabad and from other districts.

The CCS police would investigate the fake passport case after receiving the passport details of all MPs and MLAs whose names figured in media and intelligence reports. Police were already investigating into the involvement of all Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLAs and MPs after TRS MLA K Lingaiah was arrested and another TRS MLA S Babu Rao was absconding in connection with the case.
